WSJ senior editor Davis to retire after 39 years

Veteran Wall Street Journal journalist Bob Davis will be retiring at the end of the month after a 39-year run.

His last day will be Oct. 29. The Pulitzer Prize winner plans to freelance and look for new book ideas.

Currently, Davis is a senior editor reporting on international economic issues. Previously, he has covered the Chinese economy and has served as an international economics correspondent, covering international economic issues in the Washington bureau.

He was also Latin America bureau chief, running a team of reporters and reporting on the region. As economics editor, he oversaw coverage of the economy out of Washington DC. He has also served as Brussels bureau chief.

Additionally, he has also covered the White House, international economics and science and technology and a variety of industries including computers, toys and publishing.
