Washington Post editorial video director Micah Gelman, deputy video director Phoebe Connelly and video creative director Osman Malik sent out the following announcement on Monday:
The Video department is excited to announce that Atthar Mirza, an animator and video journalist at The Wall Street Journal, will join The Post as a video graphics editor.
Prior to The Journal, Atthar was an Animation Fellow at The Atlantic. At The Atlantic, Atthar created virtual reality videos, worked on a magazine cover story about the Mona Lisa, and animated and produced “A Visual History of Light.” The “Light” project won a Vimeo Staff Pick, recognition sought by filmmakers and animators around the world. Atthar is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a B.S. in Architecture & Design Thinking.
