WSJ sees weekend circulation rise

The Wall Street Journal reported a total average circulation of 2,118,315, a slight increase from 2,117,796 in the same time period a year ago, according to the latest figures released Tuesday from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The Journal continues to lead all daily newspapers with total average circulation, which includes print and digital.

The Journal’s weekend print circulation continues to experience growth, generating a 2.53 percent increase to 1,526,096 (March 2012) from 1,488,445 (March 2011).

The increase marks the second reporting period increase since the September 2011 period for WSJ Weekend, the Journal’s weekend edition. WSJ Weekend expanded in September 2010 with two additional sections – Off Duty and Review – and increased frequency for WSJ. Magazine to 10 times per year.

The expanded audience is met with increased commitments from advertisers: together, WSJ Weekend and WSJ. Magazine have brought 180 new advertisers to the Journal franchise – nearly 40 percent of which have expanded their advertising to other platforms within the franchise.
