Amy Chozick, a reporter at The Wall Street Journal for the past eight years, is leaving the paper to become a corporate media reporter for the New York Times.
Chozick covered television for The Journal. She won a Front Page Award for beat reporting for her in-depth features on the TV industry. Prior to the TV beat, Chozick covered national politics.
During the 2008 presidential campaign she served as a member of both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s traveling press corps. In this assignment she traveled to 48 states, covering the race from the Iowa caucus to election night in Chicago and the early days of the Obama administration.
Chozick was best known for writing the article “Is Obama too thin to be elected?” during the 2008 campaign.
Chozick previously held the post of foreign correspondent based in the WSJ’s Tokyo Bureau. She wrote about Japanese consumer culture and the auto industry with an emphasis on Toyota’s rapid expansion into China and the developing world.
