Janet Hook, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal in its Washington bureau, is leaving the paper after eight years and joining the Los Angeles Times.
She will cover politics.
Hook joined the Washington bureau in 2010 to cover Congress. She spent the previous 15 years covering Congress, national politics and election campaigns for the Times.
She was a reporter for Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report from 1983 to 1995, a reporter for the Chronicle of Higher Education from 1979 to 1983, and assistant editor of The Public Interest Magazine from 1978 to 1979.
She has received several journalism awards for her politics coverage, including the Everett Dirksen Award for distinguished reporting on Congress, and was a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University.
My news: After 8 years w/ the Wall St Journal, I’m heading back to the Los Angeles Times DC bureau to cover politics. It’s a time of exciting growth at a paper I love. I’m sad to leave my brilliant @WSJ colleagues but thrilled to rejoin the burgeoning and brilliant @LATimes team.
