The Wall Street Journal senior reporter Russell Gold has switched beats and moved to cover climate and business as the Journal’s senior energy reporter.
Gold is an award-winning journalist covering global and U.S. energy and climate issues. He has covered fracking, oil, renewables, electricity, batteries, natural gas and much more. He is also the author of the award-winning, “The Boom,” which was about the rise of fracking. The book was a longlisted finalist for FT and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.
He is also the author of “Superpower,” a book about a renewable energy entrepreneur and his bold idea to unleash the wind-power potential of the Great Plains.
Gold has also served as an energy journalist fellow and staff reporter for The University of Texas at Austin and San Antonio Express-News, respectively.
He also held the post of correspondent at the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Gold is a B.A. in history from Columbia University.
