Wall Street Journal print editor Bob Rose sent out the following announcement on Thursday:
We’re pleased to announce that Bart Ziegler is the new Page One News Editor, effective at the beginning of the year. Bart will work closely with the WSJ Print Editor, the Chief News Editor, the Editing Chief, art directors and others to shepherd the biggest stories of the day and help select the best photos and graphics for the front page and inside jump pages.
Bart, a veteran reporter and editor, will bring experience and a passion for the WSJ to the job. He joined The Journal as a technology reporter in 1994 to cover the then-tech leader IBM. He then served as tech editor on the news desk, deputy Marketplace editor, deputy Weekend Editor and car-industry editor on the news desk during the government bailouts of GM and Chrysler. He later survived two presidential election cycles on the U.S. News desk, and most recently was an editor on the New York digital desk.
Before The Journal, Bart worked at Business Week and the Associated Press. A graduate of Northeastern University, he lives with his partner on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
