Longtime Wall Street Journal staffer Adam Thompson has been named travel and entertainment bureau chief in the Life & Work group.
Thompson previously was a news editor for the Personal Journal section, a position he’s held since February 2013. In that role, he edited staff and interns, and developed freelance writers on coverage of careers and management, coronavirus, travel, tech, fitness, and cars. He also co-coordinated visual presentations, special features and promotion of online and print stories.
Before that role, Thompson was online sports editor for The Journal for five years. And he covered sports media and marketing from August 2006 to January 2008.
He previously worked at the Denver Post and the Ames (Iowa) Tribune as a sports writer.
Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
