We’re pleased to report that Sarah Nassauer will be taking over the Wal-Mart beat. Sarah comes to us from Personal Journal, where she’s written with creativity and insight about the trends affecting the world’s biggest retailer and its rivals. Her stories uncovered efforts by companies like Campbell to get products that don’t need to be refrigerated into the refrigerated section and the growing use of wood pulp in our food, and explained the bizarre longevity of the Pop-Tart.
Sarah now turns her considerable skills to the forces reshaping Wal-Mart and the broader retail industry. It’s a wonderful, complex, and urgent beat and we’re glad Sarah is the one who will be covering it.
Sarah started at the Journal in Paris covering social unrest and the wine industry. She had previously worked in Paris for CNBC Europe and Dow Jones Newswires. She grew up in Minnesota and is a (now extra proud) graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she earned a degree in history, specializing in Southeast Asia.
