WSJ names Meyer its East Coast bureau chief

Tedra Meyer

Wall Street Journal U.S. coverage chief Emily Nelson sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

I’m thrilled to announce the appointment of Tedra Meyer as the new East Coast Bureau Chief.

We’ve worked with Tedra since 2012, when she joined WSJ as the night editor on the U.S. desk. She then helped start the Real-Time Desk in late 2013, leading a team of editors focused on U.S. breaking news. Her ability to drive breaking news on all platforms, especially digitally, stands out. She brings a sharp eye for stories and excellent judgment to the U.S. News leadership team.

Tedra started as a reporter at dailies and weeklies in her home state of Washington, before moving to New York City in 1998. She was managing editor at SmartMoney magazine.

Tedra is a graduate of Western Washington University and has a masters degree in journalism from New York University. She lives in Brooklyn, and when she’s not working, she’s often playing tennis or attempting to tire out her Weimaraner, Squid.

Please join me in congratulating Tedra on her new role.

Emily
