Lydia Sirota, digital platforms editor at The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following announcement on Friday:
I’m pleased to announce that Cynthia Lin is named Deputy Digital Platforms Editor.
Cynthia will help lead the team that determines how our journalism is presented across WSJ apps and wsj.com on mobile and desktop. Building on her work as a senior platform editor, Cynthia will exercise her excellent news judgment to ensure that the Journal’s digital products are fresh and relevant for our readers, showcasing the best the newsroom has to offer. She will serve as a vital resource for planning and optimizing what we publish online, and is committed to sharpening our digital execution.
Cynthia and I will work closely with the strategy team and our colleagues in product, design and engineering to evolve the Journal’s digital platforms to meet our audience’s needs.
Cynthia started at the company in 2010 as an emerging-markets reporter for DJFX Trader before writing about the bond markets and editing Market Talks. She joined the platforms team as a night editor in 2015. An Arizona native and graduate of NYU Stern, Cynthia spends much of her time outside of work chauffeuring her 4-year-old to tennis and karate. She kickboxes and has high hopes for the Cardinals (though her loyalties will always lie with her fantasy team).
Please join me in congratulating Cynthia.
