WSJ names Horvath as senior editor of Review section

Wall Street Journal deputy managing editor Mike Miller sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

We’re pleased to announce that Adam Horvath will become a senior editor of Review, helping commission and edit pieces and develop new features for our popular weekend ideas section.

Adam brings Review a wide-ranging track record as one of our most accomplished global editors. He was most recently World editor, handling coverage that over the last decade included the global financial crisis, Arab Spring, the rise of Islamist State, terror attacks across Europe and Africa, the Iran nuclear deal, Brexit, China’s ascension as a world power, North Korea’s missile threats and much more.

Before that he was a Page One editor and the bureau chief in Brussels, where he ran our coverage of the eurozone economy and central bank, Germany, Eastern Europe and Turkey. As the Politics & Policy news editor in New York, after 9/11 he worked with Washington and foreign bureaus to coordinate coverage of terrorism and wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He started at the WSJ for the 2000 presidential election campaign. In his new position, he will report to Review editor Gary Rosen.

Adam came from Newsday where he was an editor, columnist and reporter with roles in two Pulitzer Prizes for deadline reporting. As a local government reporter at Newsday, he also wrote about science, travel, art and music. He is a native of Manhattan and has lived in Brooklyn since before it was cool, with his daughter, wife and dog.
