TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE
The following announcement was sent Thursday afternoon to the Wall Street Journal staff by deputy managing editor Matt Murray and corporations editor Dennis Berman:
Please join us in congratulating Marcelo Prince on his appointment as Deputy Editor of Marketplace. Marcelo will help lead our paper’s ongoing transformation of corporate coverage, assisting reporters as they break scoops, get inside companies, and tell the vibrant, essential story of business across the world. Marcelo has proved himself a deft editor and leader, having been the Journal’s technology editor for the past three years — driving our coverage both in print and online — on some of the biggest, most fast-moving stories of our times.
Marcelo spent three years as deputy technology editor for the Journal’s online edition and five years as a special writer and tech reporter at Dow Jones Newswires. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he was awarded a Pulitzer Travelling Fellowship to spend a year in Latin America.
He and his wife Amy have three young children.
Please join us in congratulating Marcelo on his well-earned appointment.
