Wall Street Journal multimedia editor Youjin Shin has been hired by the Washington Post graphics department as a graphics reporter.
She starts at the Post on June 18. Shin had been at The Journal since October 2015.
At The Journal, Shin designed and programmed interactive stories about topics as diverse as how bad it is to drive on I-95, how U.S. immigration has changed over time and the rise of women in the Senate.
Shin has a background as a robotics engineer.
Originally from Korea, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering at Korea University, before getting another master’s in interactive telecommunications at New York University and becoming a research fellow at the MIT SENSEable City Lab.
