WSJ makes changes to Money & Investing team

Wall Street Journal financial editor Dennis Berman sent out the following changes to the staff:

There have been a number of new faces and changes in our Money & Investing realm and I wanted to share them with you.

Dan Kruger

Dan Kruger joins our staff to cover Treasurys and currencies, taking over from the legendary Min Zeng. Dan has 20 years of experience around core markets topics, including a specialty in bonds. Dan spent about 10 years at Bloomberg and before that time at both Forbes and the Bond Buyer.

Amrith Ramkumar

Amrith Ramkumar joins us a markets reporter based in New York, where he primarily covers metals and other commodities. He also assists with coverage of the U.S. stock market. Amrith was an intern focused on stocks for the blog Moneybeat during the summer before starting full-time on the commodities team in mid-August. He graduated from Duke University in May with a political science degree.

Miriam Gottfried

Miriam Gottfried moves from Heard on the Street to be our Private Equity/Restructuring reporter. Prior to joining the Journal, Miriam was a staff writer at Barron’s. She grew up in Portland, Ore and lived in Chicago for three years where she wrote for Forbes magazine and freelanced for various outlets, including a stint as a restaurant critic for Chicago magazine.

Paul Vigna

Moneybeat’s Paul Vigna moves full-time to the cryptocurrency beat, which means covering the ever-hot, ever-controversial topics of Bitcoin and Ethereum. He’s now written two books on the subject (latest release to be titled The Truth Machine) and in his spare time also writes about the TV series The Walking Dead. Paul joined Dow Jones Newswires in 1997 and has had a range of jobs across the copy desk, Market Talk, and as a video host for WSJ Live.

Chelsey Dulaney

Chelsey is moving from the currencies beat to our thriving Moneybeat group, where she will be providing instant analysis of what’s driving markets right now. Chelsey started at the Journal as an intern in the real-estate group in 2014, after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also an expert on Jose Canseco and Fetty Wap’s connections to finance.

Lisa Beilfuss

Lisa has assumed the brokerage industry beat, rolling in her coverage of regulatory issues in wealth-management. She joined the Wealth group last September after coming to the Journal in 2015. Previously, she worked as a market analyst for traders in Chicago.

Michael Wursthorn

Michael now covers the stock markets after covering brokerages and the massive changes they faced under far-reaching retirement rules. He started at Dow Jones in 2011, where he initially copy edited and then reported on private-equity firms for its Pro Private Equity group. He previously worked as a reporter and online editor at the New York Daily News.
