The Wall Street Journal launched Monday an Indian edition of its Web site.
An announcement on the site states, “We’re pleased to introduce the new India edition of WSJ.com. We’ve added coverage from our New Delhi and Mumbai bureaus and increased Indian and Asian markets data for investors.”
India and China are the only two markets now with a dedicated section on the WSJ site. Readers accessing WSJ.com from India are automatically redirected to the India section, where they have an option to choose their edition.
The Financial Times launched an Indian version of its Web site last year. Mint, an Indian-based business newspaper, prints stories from The Journal in a content-sharing arrangement.
