The Wall Street Journal rolled out new technology for its online videos that allows readers to access charts and graphics about stories that they are watching, as well as put them in touch with reporter’s Twitter feeds to get the latest headlines.
WSJ: Interactive is available on desktops, tablets and newer Android devices. The inaugural video in the WSJ: Interactive series acts as an explainer and is hosted by WSJ anchor and reporter Sara Murray.
The technology was developed by TouchCast and the overall experience is literally in the hands of the viewer. While watching, consumers can also read an article, see a stock chart in real time, or view an infographic, all at their own pace and at their own choosing
“The Wall Street Journal’s capabilities – including video, infographics and real time stock charts – make us uniquely qualified to take advantage of this interactive technology. With WSJ: Interactive, readers will enjoy an enhanced experience and the opportunity to sample all our content at their own pace and preference,” said Andy Regal, senior executive producer, The Wall Street Journal, in a statement.
