Frances Yoon has been hired by the Wall Street Journal as a markets reporter in Hong Kong, covering Asian debt markets with a focus on China.
Yoon was previously at the International Financing Review, where she delivered scoops on U.S. dollar bond plans for Alibaba, Tencent and CNOOC, one of China’s largest oil companies. Her recent enterprise work looked at how underwriters paid rebates to investors in exchange for lead orders on bond deals.
She previously worked at a stocks reporter for Bloomberg Television, and once worked as Matt Lauer’s assistant at the “Today” show.
Yoon graduated from New York University.
