March Vartabedian

Alec Davis, venture capital editor at The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

All,
Please join me in welcoming Marc [Vartebedian] as he starts today with the Pro Venture Capital team in S.F. Marc is covering venture firms and the future of cities.
We were fortunate to get to know Marc during his summer internship in the buro earlier this year, when he also contributed to the VC team. Marc just earned a master’s in journalism from UC Berkeley, and one of his better mentors there was WSJ alum Yukari Kane.
Previously Marc was a Reuters tech reporting intern. He has also reported for the Eureka Times-Standard on cops and cannabis, including a piece filed from an illegal pot farm. He has written for the L.A. Times, the Atlantic and the Washington Post.
A native of Long Beach, Calif., Marc graduated from UC Santa Cruz, where he honed his mastery of economics and surfing. He also is an avid tennis player. Be forewarned if you challenge him to a match. He is a veteran of the European professional circuit.
Cheers,
Alec
