Olivia Niland is joining The Wall Street Journal in the role of social media editor.
Recently, she was a news curation editor at BuzzFeed News. Before that, she held the post of breaking news reporter. She was also an associate social media editor at Gizmodo Media Group, and a social media editor at Fusion Media Group.
Niland has also interned at Mashable, NBCUniversal, and The Hollywood Reporter.
She has also worked at Los Angeles Magazine, USA Today College and more.
Niland has also given talks in digital media to students at USC’s Annenberg School of Journalism and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Niland has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism.
