WSJ hires Inc.’s Frieswick to be deputy editor of Mansion

Mike Miller, senior editor of features and WSJ Weekend, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

We’re pleased to announce Kris Frieswick will be joining The Wall Street Journal as Deputy Editor of Mansion.

Kris is a seasoned journalist, editor, humorist and author. Most recently an executive editor at Inc. Magazine, she has previously held positions as editor-in-chief of On Wall Street, and senior editor at CFO Magazine. She wrote a humor column for the Boston Phoenix newspapers for almost ten years. She has received national and regional awards for her reporting and editing. Her writing has appeared in a wide variety of publications including the WSJ, The Economist, Medium, Entrepreneur Magazine and The Boston Globe Magazine. Her humor columns were included in two best-selling anthologies, and her debut novel, The Ghost Manuscript, debuts on April 2, 2019. Kris lives in New York with her husband, Andrew.

Kris replaces Beth DeCarbo, who will be writing a new regular column for Mansion that explores the economics of home ownership and the way we live.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
