The Wall Street Journal has hired reporter Jared Council to cover artificial intelligence for its WSJ Pro newsletter on the topic.

Council has been a senior writer for Harrison Scott Publications, which publishes Real Estate Alert, Hedge Fund Alert, Commercial Mortgage Alert and Asset-Backed Alert, since January 2018, covering U.S. commercial real estate with a focus on multifamily properties nationally and office properties in the Southeast.

On LinkedIn, Council wrote, “My coverage will be geared towards business leaders across industries working with (or interested in utilizing) AI. So stories will touch on topics of adoption, hiring, ethics, risk, etc.”

Council previously worked at the Indianapolis Business Journal covering tech and venture capital and for Inside Business, a Norfolk, Virginia, publication, covering banking, finance and tourism.

He also worked at the Evansville Courier-Press.
