The Wall Street Journal has hired BuzzFeed News tech reporter Nicole Nguyen.
She will start on Feb. 25 and still be based in San Francisco. Her column will focus on consumer products and services, with an analytical bent. She will be working with personal tech editor Wilson Rothman and personal tech columnist Joanna Stern.
She has been at BuzzFeed since March 2015. Her last day at BuzzFeed is Friday.
Nugyen has written about the fake review ecosystem and the proliferation of stolen art in Amazon’s marketplace. She also launched and ran video production for BuzzFeed’s San Francisco bureau. Her team produced, shot, and edited videos for BuzzFeed Tech’s social media channels.
She has also written about how app developers secretly sell your location data, previously unreported security flaws, and why tech companies are all-in on the battle for your voice.
Nguyen previously worked at PopSugar Tech.
