WSJ hires Boston Biz Journal tech editor Castellanos

Sara Castellanos, the tech editor at the Boston Business Journal, is leaving the paper to become a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.

Castellanos will be covering emerging technologies being used by chief information officers at global companies for the Journal’s CIO Journal.

She starts Oct. 10.

Castellanos joined the American City Business Journals paper in October 2013 and became its tech editor in April 2015. She covered startups, venture capital and tech for two email newsletters with thousands of subscribers and the weekly print newspaper. She also made monthly appearances on the New England Cable Network TV station.

Before, Castellanos was a reporter for the Aurora Sentinel in Colorado for nearly four years. She has business reporting internships at the Quincy (Mass.) Patriot Ledger, the Denver Post and the Denver Business Journal.

She’s a University of Denver graduate.
