WSJ hires banking reporter from Reuters

Peter Rudegeair, a Reuters reporter covering Wall Street and U.S. banks, particularly Bank of America and Wells Fargo, has been hired by the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires to cover banking.

He replaces Saabira Chaudhuri, who has moved to the Journal’s London office to cover European retailing.

Rudegeair has been a reporter for Reuters since September 2012. Before that, he was an editorial research assistant, researching Chrystia Freeland‘s economics columns for the International Herald Tribune and her New York Times best-selling book “Plutocrats.” He also did online editing for Reuters.com and contributed to the Counterparties and Unstructured Finance blogs.

He has also been a research associate for the Council on Foreign Relations and a reporter for Need to Know News covering economic indicators.

Rudegeair is a University of Pennsylvania graduate.
