WSJ energy reporter leaving for FT

TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Guy Chazan, an energy reporter for The Wall Street Journal, is leaving the paper to cover the same beat for The Financial Times.

In an e-mail to the Journal staff on Thursday, Chazan wrote, ” After 12 eventful years, I’m leaving the Journal. It’s sad to say goodbye: working with you all has been a privilege and a great pleasure, and I will miss you. It’s really been an amazing ride.”

Chazan was based in the Journal’s London bureau. From there, he wrote about energy all across the world, from the Middle East and northern Africa to Russia’s attempts to find oil in eastern Siberia, among recent articles. He also covered BP.

Chazan also spent some time in Russia covering the oligarchs.
