The Racine Journal Times in Wisconsin is moving its stock listings from the printed newspaper to its Web site, according to a story Thursday.
The story stated, “The Journal Times’ newspaper stock listings will soon be discontinued in favor of Web site-only distribution of that information.
“‘Our readers have already been making that change because it offers a better, faster and more in-depth way of monitoring stock prices,’ Journal Times Editor Steve Lovejoy said. ‘The Journal Times has been making the transition to a combined online and print news and advertising operation and this is simply the most efficient way to give our readers the stock price information. It will also allow us to focus our coverage resources on local news and continue to expand our Web site.’
“Beginning Tuesday, The Journal Times will no longer run stock prices in its print edition. Instead, readers who have not already discovered our online stock listings are invited to try them out at our main online Money page.”
