Larry Avila, the former business editor of the Appleton Post-Crescent in Wisconsin, has been hired as a business reporter/editor at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison.
For the past 21 months, Avila has been a senior communications specialist for Milwaukee’s public schools. Before that, he was editor of New North B2B, a monthly business-to-business magazine serving northeastern Wisconsin.
Avila was business editor of the Post-Crescent from June 2006 to July 2013. Before that, he was business editor of the Naperville Sun in Illinois.
He has also been managing editor of The Business Ledger (Oak Brook, Ill.) and editor of The Business Journal (Crystal Lake, Ill.).
Avila is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
