Wired names new publisher

Howard Mittman is the new publisher of WIred magazine, writes Lucia Moses of MediaWeek.

Moses writes, “Mittman succeeds Chris Mitchell, who was tapped last week to be vp, publisher of Condé Nast Traveler as part of a larger publisher shakeup at the company.

“Like most magazines, Wired has faced a falloff in ad pages amid the economic downturn. This year through March, pages at Wired declined 56.8 percent to 114, per the Mediaweek Monitor.”
