Greg Williams has been named the new editor of Wired in the United Kingdom, replacing Greg Rowan, reports Jenny Cleeton of The Drum.

Cleeton writes, “Williams was formerly deputy editor of Wired UK for seven years, as well as editor of the annual trend forecast, Wired World.

“He will report directly to Nicholas Coleridge, managing director, and Albert Read, deputy managing director, of Conde Nast Britain. The duo made the announcement today saying Williams had become ‘an essential resource’ for the media company.

“Commenting on his promotion, Williams said he is looking forward to continuing the work at Wired across the variety of different platforms that the organisation currently runs.

“Rowan, who has been editor-in-chief of Wired UK since it launched in 2009, explained he was stepping down to allow time to work on his own business but hopes to continue to work closely with Wired in the future.”
