Wirecutter has hired Roxanne Emadi, previously head of audience development at BuzzFeed News, as its new director of editorial strategy and audience development.
She starts on May 13.
In this role, Emadi will be charged with creating and executing strategies to increase traffic and engage and grow Wirecutter’s audience.
On the appointment, Wirecutter editor in chief Ben Frumin wrote: “Roxanne will be a critical member of Wirecutter’s editorial leadership team, taking a strong hand in editorial strategy, coverage planning, content conception, and leading our efforts to make sure as many people as possible benefit from Wirecutter’s content.”
At BuzzFeed, Emadi was responsible for growing BuzzFeed News’ reach across social platforms, apps, newsletters, and video, and launching new shows and products, including buzzfeednews.com. Previously, she edited breaking news across platforms at BuzzFeed, led social and content for Code.org, and has written and edited for outlets ranging from Forbes to the Council on Foreign Relations.
