Flood writes, “Fox Business Network reporter Gerri Willis removed her wig for first time on air since battling and defeating breast cancer. She displayed a new hairstyle and opened up about her treatment Thursday night on ‘Kennedy.’
“‘It’s been a real journey,’ Willis said. ‘I had a mastectomy of my right breast… I went into chemotherapy, eight treatments over four months.’
“Willis underwent the ‘red devil,’ which she calls a ‘really caustic chemotherapy,’ followed by Taxol. ‘After that I had breast reconstruction and then finally five weeks of daily treatments’ she said.
“‘You look incredible… you are such an amazing person,’ Kennedy said.
“Willis has been back on the air, but has worn a wig since undergoing chemotherapy. She teased the reveal of her new hairstyle on Twitter and donated money to the Susan G. Komen foundation for every response she received guessing which program she would appear on.”
