Wilkerson joins Mergermarket/Dealreporter

Ed Mullane, sector editor for the technology, media & telecom group at Mergermarket/Dealreporter, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I’m pleased to announce that David Wilkerson will be joining Mergermarket/Dealreporter on a full-time basis. Having been working with this news service as a freelance reporter for the past year, David has shown an outstanding ability to report and write up detailed coverage on regulatory and live deal situations in addition to putting together some nice analysis pieces on individual sits and sectors as whole.

David will spend most of his time working with the TMT group but will also help out with regional coverage in the Chicago area.

David has been a financial journalist for 19 years. He joined the DBC Newsroom (later called MarketWatch) in August 1996 as a general assignment reporter. Then based in San Francisco, he had primary responsibility for a daily technology report, “Silicon Stocks,” for the next four years, while assuming coverage of the media beat beginning in 1998. For most of the next 15 years, he focused on media for MarketWatch, with a particular emphasis on broadcast and cable television. During this period, in 2005, he transferred to the Chicago bureau.

David is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and has unfortunately retained his loyalties to that city’s sports teams.

Please join me in congratulating David in his new position.
