Wichita Business Journal editor Bill Roy has been named the winner of the 2021 Clyde M. Reed Jr. Master Editor Award, reports Kirk Seminoff of the Business Journal.
Seminoff writes, “At the WBJ, Roy has set high expectations for breaking business news and addressing issues affecting the business community.
“‘Bill is the best editor, the best partner a publisher could have and I’ve been blessed to partner with Bill for 20 years,; WBJ publisher John Ek said. ‘I can always depend on Bill to do the right thing as he is always guided by honesty and integrity.’
“Roy’s weekly podcast, ‘BizTalk with Bill Roy,’ has for four years introduced listeners to important voices and new faces to the local business scene. Until recently, Roy was also a daily contributor of business news to KNSS radio’s ‘Steve and Ted in the Morning’ and weekly business reports on KAKE-TV.
“In the fall of 2019, Roy was diagnosed with ALS, but has continued to lead the WBJ through reporting during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“‘I have been nothing less than amazed at the manner in which Bill has faced his condition with humor, grace and character,’ Ek said.”
