Axios has hired Aja Whitaker-Moore as managing editor.
In this role, she will be overseeing business coverage and will also be contributing to a long-term project covering systemic racism in America.
Previously, she was global editor-in-chief, fixed income for Acuris, where she oversaw global editorial operations for the Group and was also a member of the Executive Committee.
She also supported the corporate development team, maintained direct oversight and supervision of 11 managing editors and 100+ journalists, credit analysts, and legal analysts staffing products in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and CEEMEA among other tasks.
Before that, Whitaker-Moore was with Debtwire for more than 11 years, joining as a senior reporter. Later on, she held other roles at the company, including assistant editor for high yield, deputy editor – North America, managing editor – North America and deputy editor-in-chief.
She was also a reporter at both FT Group -Mergermarket and Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Whitaker-Moore is a B.A. in journalism from University of Massachusetts Amherst.
