Vernon Wessels, a former editor for Bloomberg News in South Africa, has been named managing director of Finance Media in Johannesburg.
Wessels had been with Bloomberg for nearly 17 years before leaving earlier this year. He was South Africa bureau chief from 2010 to 2012 and Africa emerging markets team leader from 2012 to 2016. For the last five years, he had been Africa and Middle East finance editor.
He previously worked as markets editor for Business Report in South Africa. He was also a reporter for I-Net Bridge and for the Pretoria News.
He is a graduate of Tshwane University of Technology.
