Nominations for the WERT Prize, honoring excellence in business journalism by a woman for work that fosters a greater understanding of global business, have been extended to May 31.
The prize is presented by the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia’s Journalism School in partnership with the Women’s Economic Round Table (WERT).
Thanks to funding from the Muriel F. Siebert Foundation, this year’s award will grow to $4,500 in acknowledgement of the 45th year of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship. The award honors work published in English, across platforms – print, radio, broadcast and digital – for the 2019 calendar year.
The Women’s Economic Round Table was founded in 1978 by Dr. Amelia Augustus and Maria Rolfte as an educational and networking forum for women leaders in the fields of economics, finance and business.
A jury of seven distinguished journalists will review submissions from across multiple continents.
