Jim Weiker has been named the new business editor at the Columbus Dispatch.

Editor Alan Miller writes, “You know Weiker from his work in At Home and across the paper. He has been covering real estate, development and home improvement for the past nine years. He has worked in newspapers for 34 years and came to The Dispatch in 2000 as a business reporter covering development.

“Weiker also worked for a number of years as an editor on both the Business and Features desks, so he brings a wealth of experience and ideas to his new position.”

Weiker was assistant business editor at the Dispatch from 2003 to 2005. He also worked as a business reporter at the Denver Post, Grand Rapids Press and Flint Journal. He has a bachelor’s degree from Albion College and a master’s degree from Marquette University.
