Washington Post real estate editor leaves paper

Sara Kehaulani Goo, the real estate editor at The Washington Post, has left the paper. Her last day was Wednesday.

Goo writes, “I wanted to take a moment and thank you, our readers, for the opportunity to build a new digital presence for the Post’s real estate coverage. I’m really proud of what we got started here with the Where We Live blog.

“Since its launch at the beginning of this year, the blog has been a huge success in reaching out to and engaging with our local readers who live, work and enjoy entertainment in the Washington, D.C. area. We wanted to join the conversation about local real estate and invite you to weigh in on this segment of the economy that hits your wallet in a real and direct way.

“The key to success was to reach out to a large group of contributors who share their expertise on the local real estate market. I learned early that this area is so big and diverse that what’s true in real estate for one neighborhood is not often true for another one, even next door. Thanks to our readers and contributors who taught me this and made this blog much better with your input.

“The blog will be in good hands as we transition to a new editor. Two very talented journalists will take over the blog in the interim — Olga Khazan and J.D. Harrison, who also run our On Small Business blog with Capital Business, our weekly business publication on local business coverage.”
