The Washington Post has tapped Cathleen Decker as editor of the America desk. In her new role, she will guide coverage of the country’s biggest breaking news stories among other tasks.
She begins on May 9.
Recently, Decker served as the Post’s 2012 Campaign Editor. She joined the Post newsroom in 2018 from the Los Angeles Times, where she worked for more than 40 years. There, she served in various writing and editorial posts, including Deputy National Editor and National Politics Editor.
Decker holds a B.A. in journalism from California State University, Long Beach.
