Drew Hansen, the assistant managing editor of the Washington Business Journal, has been tapped to oversee the parent company’s launch of a new website covering business news in Richmond, Virginia.
He will remain in the Washington area and keep his duties at the Washington Business Journal, but will travel to Richmond frequently.
Parent company American City Business Journals is seeking to hire a reporter in Richmond.
Hansen has been with the Business Journal since July 2014 and has been assistant managing editor in charge of its digital strategy for the past two years.
He previously worked at the Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Virginia, and The Washington Times.
