Carten Cordell, a reporter for the Washington Business Journal, is leaving the publication.
Cordell writes, “So why leave now? It’s a question that I’ve struggled with for some time. It’s true that editors Rebecca Cooper, Drew Hansen, Michael Neibauer and Vandana Sinha are some of the most patient and supportive leaders I’ve ever worked with and have only made me better.
“It’s also true that my fellow reporters possess both a talent and canniness that makes you want to raise your own game to endeavor to match them in skill. And it’s certainly true that Publisher Alex Orfinger’s love for both this community and the tight network of this publication means that neither will ever go without a fierce advocate for its prosperity and betterment.
“But the truth is that I’m ready to take a little break, to learn some new things and try new adventures. Because it is so tough to leave, I can’t imagine I’ll stray that far and hope to drift back time and again.”
