Washington Biz Journal hires new federal contracting reporter

James Bach has been hired as the federal contracting reporter at the Washington Business Journal, replacing Jill Aitoro.

Bach writes, “I’m a proud alumnus of the University of Maryland student newspaper, the Diamondback, where for three years I covered state and national politics, as well as local business and the economy. Over the past year I was a financial news writer, covering a wide range of topics that included enterprise technology, defense, commodities, banking and the eurozone crisis.

“Now I have the luxury of inheriting a reputable brand my predecessor masterfully built up and narrowing my focus. And I embrace the challenging task of both preserving that image and making the beat my own.

“I know the federal contracting community comes to expect a lot from this paper. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to now be among this community and I invite everybody who is a part of the conversation to get in touch with me.”
