Washington Biz Journal banking reporter is leaving

Mark Holan, the banking and finance reporter for the Washington Business Journal, is leaving the American City Business Journals paper.

Holan is moving to a writer/editor position at the American Road & Transportation Builders Association.

He writes, “Although I’ve been here only 14 months, I’ve spent nearly five years with parent company American City Business Journals. Fine company. Wonderful colleagues.”

Holan previously worked at the Tampa Bay Business Journal, where he covered commercial real estate and economic development. He also worked at the Tampa Tribune and the Mobile Press-Register.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
