Warnes joining WSJ as strategy editor

Sophie Warnes

Senior data journalist at the Office for National Statistics Sophie Warnes will be departing for The Wall Street Journal which she’ll be joining as strategy editor for the visuals team.

Her new role begins next month.

Prior to joining ONS, Warnes was a web producer for ITN. She also served as a data journalist at both Wellcome Trust and Trinity Mirror Group PLC. She has also worked at Amaze as a data dashboarding consultant.

Warnes also held the post of digital production journalist at The Independent. In addition, she has also worked at other organizations, including The Financial Times and Financial Mail.

Warnes is a B.A. in multi-media journalism from Bournemouth University. She also holds a master’s degree in interactive journalism from City University London.
