WaPo launches energy and environment blog

Washington Post national economy and business editor Greg Schneider and deputy business editor David Cho made the following announcement on Thursday:

We’re thrilled to announce the debut of Energy and Environment with Chris Mooney, a robust destination for news and sharp analysis about climate change, energy and sustainability issues. Chris is a long-time science and environmental journalist who has written several books on the subjects, and whose work has been featured on Wonkblog since he joined The Post last fall. He is one of the most provocative writers covering the environment today. Chris not only breaks news and explains the latest research, he also illuminates the way people’s social and political beliefs affect their understanding of science.

Energy and Environment with Chris Mooney will be a lively site that also features work from The Post’s outstanding slate of reporters with expertise in the field, including Joby Warrick, Steven Mufson, Juliet Eilperin, Darryl Fears and Lori Montgomery. It promises to be an exciting forum for new ideas and unique outlooks on one of the most important subjects of our time.
