“Wall Street Week” relaunching in April

“Wall Street Week,” the public television show made famous by Louis Rukeyser, is returning in April.

The first show will air April 19.

Hosted by investment firm SkyBridge Capital  founder Anthony Scaramucci and developed by a SkyBridge capital affiliate, “Wall Street Week” will air for one half-hour every Sunday morning on local television stations in major U.S. markets including New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago and San Francisco.

It will also be streamed for global viewing on WallStreetWeek.com.

Originally hosted by  Rukeyser, “Wall Street Week” aired on PBS each Friday night for 35 years (1970-2005). At its peak, the show aired on more than 300 stations nationwide. SkyBridge announced in May 2014 that it licensed the rights to the show from Maryland Public Television.

“There is a critical need to better educate Americans about investing and wealth creation, and to bridge the gaps between Washington, Wall Street and Main Street,” said Scaramucci in a statement. “We are excited about the unique opportunity to do this through ‘Wall Street Week.’”

In addition to the show’s development team led by SkyBridge’s Susan Krakower and Raymond Borelli, both former CNBC executives, “Wall Street Week’s” editorial content will be guided by an advisory board comprised of prestigious financial industry leaders.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
