Steven Belser has been hired as the general manager of Vox Media tech news sites The Verge and Recode.
He sill start on May 7.
Belser will report to Andrew Golis, vice president of network development at Vox Media, and will work closely with leadership teams from both sites to set overall revenue strategy, build core ad businesses, and identify new partnership and business opportunities.
He joins Recode and The Verge from Bloomberg, where he helped create TicToc, the live streaming news service in partnership with Twitter.
Before that, he helped launch NowThis News, served as head of production at Vice where he launched its flagship YouTube channels, and worked in production management at MTV.
Belser is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
