Jessica Sabbath Smith, the managing editor of Virginia Business, has left for a position with the Virginia state government.
Smith is now managing editor at the Joint Legislative Audit & Review Commission. She had been managing editor of the magazine for the past 10 months.
Smith has been with the magazine since 2006 and previously also special projects editor for the magazine. She has won many awards from Alliance of Area Business Publications and the Virginia Press Association during her tenure with the magazine.
Before joining Virginia Business, she was a reporter for the Winchester Star newspaper in Virginia.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
