Susie Banikarim has been named executive vice president and global head of newsgathering at Vice News, reports Politico.
Previously, she held the posts of editorial director and executive vice president at Gizmodo Media Group. Banikarim also held the positions of chief content officer and Nieman Fellow at Vocativ and Harvard University, respectively.
Additionally, she also served as deputy editorial director and executive producer at Newsweek and The Daily Beast. Before that, she was employed at ABC News. She also worked as a news associate at NBC News from 2003 to 2004.
Banikarim has a bachelor’s degree in political science and English from Barnard College and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Columbia University.
